AICI
The Adoption Information Center of Illinois (AICI) is an adoption exchange, an organization that helps connect children who need to be adopted with families who want to adopt. Since 1981, we have worked with the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) and private child welfare agencies across the state to help achieve this goal.
We also provide information and referrals for families who want to foster or adopt. We can connect them with a licensing agency in their area and support them through the licensing process. We can also provide families with information and referrals regarding post-adoption and guardianship services.
We have adminstered the Adoption Listing Service (ALS) for DCFS since our inception. This service uses many tools for recruiting families for children, including:
- our database of licensed families
- child listings on this website and our partner websites
- multimedia presentations featuring waiting children
- the Heart Gallery of Illinois
- print media features in local newspapers
Caseworkers can register a child by downloading the forms from this website. A family can register to be included in our database, so they can be matched with available children.
